Turn a mockup created with OpenAI, Claude or another AI tool into a custom dashboard layer connected to Unify.
Start with the dashboard you have in mind. With OpenAI, Claude or another AI tool, you can quickly explore a layout, choose the information that matters and shape the look around your own brand. That mockup becomes a clear starting point for a working dashboard connected to Unify.
Your design can become an additional visual layer on top of Unify, bringing your own layout and identity to the data already available in the platform. Unify provides the underlying data and account access; the custom layer presents that information in the way that works best for your team or customers.
Describe your audience, the questions the dashboard should answer and the style you prefer. Ask your AI tool to create a mockup with the charts, indicators and navigation you need. Refine it until the layout feels right.
For example, an installer might want a branded portfolio view with today's solar production, battery state of charge and the sites that need attention. A customer might prefer a simpler view focused on their own installation.
The mockup gives a developer a concrete visual specification. Its cards, charts and controls can be implemented as a custom interface and connected to the corresponding data through the Unify external API.
This makes the step from concept to implementation straightforward: the desired experience is already visible, while Unify supplies the available measurements and site information. The implementation maps each element to its data source, period, unit and access scope.
Use your own colors, typography, terminology and layout to create an experience that fits your organization. The result is a working dashboard layer on top of Unify, tailored to the people who use it.
Illustrative design with fictional names and values. The example shows how an AI-generated concept can guide a custom interface connected to available Unify data.
For a layout covered by Unify's built-in modules, open Dashboards, choose Custom, select the sites and arrange the modules. Preview and save the result in the intended account. See Create and manage dashboards.
For a distinct interface or a more specific user experience, use the mockup as the basis for a custom dashboard layer. A developer implements the design and connects the data; uploading an image alone does not create the integration.
Keep the API key on the application backend. The available measurements and permissions determine which information the dashboard can display.
To read or change built-in Unify dashboards directly from Claude or ChatGPT, use the MCP connection. It can add or update supported charts and account dashboards using your personal Insights permissions. The worked examples explain how to preserve existing widgets and verify a saved change. A separately developed visual interface still uses the external API workflow above.
