Add the remote Unify MCP server to ChatGPT, authorize with Insights and verify account-scoped access.
Use ChatGPT with the Unify MCP connection to investigate your sites and, when permitted, save changes to dashboards, reports and other supported configurations.
Sign in to Unify with your personal Insights account. Select the intended account and open MCP. You do not need an OpenAI API key, an Eniris administrator account or a password pasted into chat.
Use ChatGPT on the web in a workspace that allows custom remote MCP connections. In the current interface:
https://unify.eniris.com/bff/mcp.Workspace controls can restrict custom connections. If your interface uses different labels, follow OpenAI's current custom MCP connection instructions. The Unify URL and authentication method remain the same.
The authorization screen identifies the requesting app, its callback origin and the selected Unify account. Check these before choosing Allow connection.
Also allow editing is off by default. Leave it off to read and analyze data. Enable it if you want supported write operations and you already have the relevant rights in Unify. Granting this option does not turn a viewer into an administrator.
If the account is wrong, deny the request, select the correct account in Unify and restart the connection. Do not approve the wrong account expecting an account change in the browser to fix the AI connection later.
Use this prompt with the Unify plugin selected:
Use portal_guide to show the connected Unify account and permissions. List the first ten accessible sites, including their IDs. Do not save or change anything.
Check that ChatGPT used Unify tools and returned the expected account. A general answer about solar monitoring does not verify that the connection works.
Next, try a bounded investigation:
Find Demo Solar North in the accessible sites. For the last complete calendar month in the site's timezone, summarize production and PR with units and data gaps. Do not treat missing readings as zero.
“Demo Solar North” is a fictitious example; replace it with a site you can access.
If the connection was authorized as read only, remove or reconnect it through the AI client, authorize again and enable Also allow editing. Ask ChatGPT to read the current object first, explain the change and preserve unrelated content. AI-client approval prompts are separate from Unify's authorization and permission checks.
After a successful save, inspect the corresponding item in Unify. For a chart or report example, continue with practical workflows.
In Unify, open MCP → My connections → Revoke access for the relevant entry. Remove the plugin in ChatGPT too if you no longer want it displayed there. Revoking access prevents subsequent authorized operations; it does not erase content already returned to a conversation.
