Grouping devices
Go to the "Groups" tab in the commissioning interface.
The grouping function allows you to schematically organize the devices as they are connected to the electrical groups in your building as shown in the first figure.
You can compare this with the single-wire diagram of your building.

You need to do this so that the SmartgridOne Controller knows how everything is connected. It can for example take the maximum current of a group into account.
There are two configuration options:
- Simple groups (default)
- Advanced groups
Simple groups
Simple groups is the default option. With this option, the SmartgridOne Controller will automatically use the first energy meter you connect as the grid energy meter, and place all devices in one group. You can compare this to an installation with one energy meter and one distribution board.
Tip
For most installations, this is the recommended option.
You do not need to do anything when this option is enabled.
Advanced groups
Advanced groups can be used for more complex installations. Here you have complete freedom to configure how the electrical installation is structured.
Tip
When do I need advanced groups?
You do not need advanced groups if...
... you have a single energy meter and all devices connected straight to your main distribution board.
You may want to use advanced groups if...
... you have multiple energy meters and sub-metering
... you have a commercial or industrial installation with a need for separate load guarding of electrical groups.
